weird just as i post about getting a greek version of a naginata turns out there is infact a real life thracian version.. right lads.... this sorts out the sword issue mwahahaha

Awsome isnt it. It has a short shaft at about half the blade or less and is technically a spear. I want one, and it comes home at about 4-5 feet I think.

Might not look quite so cool if stab-saferizing it. The minimum width of the blade at the end of the core is 9cm (and that's with a core so thin it would wang something awful). All stab-safe weaponry looks annoyingly chunky.
